Ty Jerome emerges as Memphis Grizzlies' point guard candidate

Ty Jerome is emerging as a leading candidate for the Memphis Grizzlies' starting point guard position following the team's training camp in Nashville. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo noted significant depth at the point guard and center positions, a notable improvement over previous seasons marked by injuries.

Jerome has demonstrated versatility in scoring and playmaking across various lineup configurations. Teammate GG Jackson highlighted Jerome’s ability to score in any situation, while Iisalo values his capacity to manage offensive organization. This skill set could allow the Grizzlies to utilize defensive wings like Jaylen Wells, Jerami Grant, and Cedric Coward without sacrificing half-court control.

Additionally, a developing connection between Jerome and center Zach Edey has been observed. Jerome’s proficiency in the pick-and-roll and his ability to feed the post are expected to create significant offensive advantages for the team.
