The Municipality of Soufli has officially entered the implementation phase for a new sewage network in Tyche, Evros. The contract was signed by Mayor Panagiotis Kalakikos and the contractor, ‘KATASKEVY ATE’, represented by Kyriakos Haidemenos.

The project has a budget of €8,890,000 and is expected to be completed within 24 months. It involves the construction of a 15.8-kilometer network using pipes with diameters ranging from Φ200 to Φ400, along with 720 plastic inspection manholes. Additionally, four pumping stations will be built, supported by 2.1 kilometers of pressure pipes.

Funded by the ‘Environment and Climate Change 2021-2027’ Operational Program, the initiative aims to upgrade local infrastructure, improve urban waste management, and protect public health and the environment. A subsequent phase involving the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, budgeted at approximately €4.38 million, is expected to be tendered in the near future.
