Tychy allocates 31.8 m zł to upgrade indoor pool, training pitch opening pushed to 2026

The city of Tychy signed a contract on 15 July to modernise the indoor swimming pool on Edukacji 9. Mayor Maciej Gramatyka and TEXOM S.A. representative Karol Paśniewski signed the agreement for a 31.8 million‑zł investment that will rebuild the building, add a green roof, install photovoltaic panels and upgrade lighting, ventilation, heating and water systems. The pool will close from 3 August, with work expected to finish at the turn of 2027‑2028.

A separate training pitch on the same street remains unopened. The municipal inspector issued a usage permit on 15 June, but final works on the heating system and turf care are still pending. The opening deadline has been extended to 30 June 2026. The city disclosed a new rental price list: 1 000 zł per hour for matches with lighting, 900 zł without; training rates are 800 zł and 700 zł respectively. Małgorzata Wawak, the city spokesman, said, “Obecnie trwają jednak końcowe prace związane z uruchomieniem węzła c.o., sprawdzeniem systemu podgrzewania murawy oraz jej pielęgnacją.” The municipality will not seek contractual penalties from the builder.
