Tychy Public Library announces cultural workshops and Kamishibaiki sessions
The Municipal Public Library in Tychy (MBP Tychy) has announced a series of cultural programs and workshops for October 2026. A primary feature is the ‘Kamishibaiki śląskie’ project, a free workshop series led by Iwona Puławska. This initiative combines Silesian fairy tales and legends with traditional Japanese illustration theatre (kamishibai).
Participants, including children aged 10 and above, youth, and adults, will learn the principles of kamishibai, create original stories and illustrations, and record presentations using traditional ‘butai’ boxes and sound effects. The project is divided into three cycles, with the first two occurring in October. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education under the ‘Compass of the Young Citizen’ program.
Other scheduled activities at the library include a Manga Discussion Club for youth, LEGO building sessions, creative workshops for children, and various literary and artistic meetings. For adults, the schedule includes amateur chess corners, board game meetings, and presentations by travelers and creators.
