Tyga: A look at his rise from early mixtapes to Young Money

The career of rapper Tyga is traced from his 2007 debut mixtape, ‘Young on Probation,’ through his rise in the hip-hop industry. His early work caught the attention of Pete Wentz, who signed him to the Decaydance imprint.

Following a collaboration with Travie McCoy on ‘Coconut Juice,’ Tyga established a connection with Lil Wayne via the MTV VMAs. This led to Tyga joining Lil Wayne’s Young Money clique during the era of ‘Tha Carter III.’ While his momentum was partially overshadowed by fellow artist Drake within the group, Tyga eventually transitioned into a role as a trendsetter within the rap genre.
