Tyga Unveils $tarface Album with 1980s Miami‑Inspired Sound
Rapper Tyga has introduced his new 1980s‑inspired alter ego $tarface and announced a full‑length, 10‑track album under that name. The project, scheduled for release on July 31, features more singing than rapping and includes the previously issued singles “Affection” and “GAVE U RACKS,” as well as the Fenix Flexin‑assisted track “Lavi$h.”
Tyga describes the album as a standalone creative venture rooted in early‑1980s Miami culture, blending synth‑wave, pop, R&B and funk. He said the $tarface persona and its music “need to exist separately” to give him complete artistic freedom, with the visual concept emphasizing vintage luxury, silk looks and a Jheri curl aesthetic.
