Tyla Denies Yung Miami's Claim She Copied 'Chanel' Song Concept

Rapper Yung Miami alleged that South African singer Tyla stole the concept of her unreleased track “Take Me To Chanel” for Tyla’s upcoming single “Chanel.” Miami posted on X in October 2025, comparing the two titles and saying she had previously played the song for Tyla.

Tyla responded in an interview, saying the similarity was coincidental. She explained that songwriter Bibi Bourelly sent her the song months later, already with its concept and vibe in place, and that she had no intention of copying anyone’s work. Tyla emphasized there were no hard feelings toward Miami, even singing part of Miami’s hit “Spend Dat” during the interview.

Social‑media users reacted with mixed opinions, some noting that similar lyrical themes are common in pop music and others defending Tyla’s creative process.
