Tylar Shepheard faces new child abuse material charges

Former Albury police constable Tylar Jay Shepheard faces additional charges involving child abuse material. During a hearing at Albury Local Court on August 11, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions revealed two fresh charges: using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and having control of child abuse data through a carriage service.

The new allegations relate to activities occurring between March and April 2026 in Lakesland and other areas of New South Wales. Shepheard, who had his bail revoked in April following a forensic examination of his mobile phone, has had his matters adjourned to September 8 to allow for charge certification.
