Tyler Boebert arrested on child sexual exploitation charges
Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert, has been arrested in Garfield County, Colorado, on multiple felony charges. The charges include three counts of sexual exploitation of a child—specifically involving inducement or enticement, possession with intent, and the use of video—as well as two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The arrest follows an investigation into a 43-second video allegedly recorded in early 2024 involving a 17-year-old girl. According to an arrest affidavit, the investigation was prompted by reports of sexually explicit content being posted to an Instagram account. Tyler Boebert, who was 18 at the time of the alleged incident, was released from the Garfield County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
This legal matter comes as Tyler Boebert faces other ongoing legal issues, including a previous misdemeanor child abuse charge and a case involving attempted identity theft. Representative Boebert issued a statement expressing her love for her son and noting that the family is taking the allegations very seriously. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 19.
