Tyler Duckworth, MTV ‘The Challenge’ winner, found dead at 44

Tyler Duckworth, a two-time winner of MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ and former cast member of ‘The Real World: Key West’, has died at age 44.

Authorities in Grand Forks, North Dakota, discovered Duckworth unresponsive in his apartment bathtub following a welfare check initiated by a neighbor reporting a water leak. The Grand Forks Police Department has classified the incident as an unattended death with no immediate signs of trauma, such as gunshot or stab wounds, and no current indication of foul play. An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.

Duckworth was a prominent figure in reality television, winning ‘Cutthroat’ in 2010 and ‘Rivals’ in 2011, before returning for ‘The Challenge: All Stars’ in 2021 and 2022. Outside of his media career, he worked as a world history teacher. His mother, Joni Duckworth, confirmed his passing via social media, prompting a wave of condolences from the reality TV community.
