Tyler Perry develops new Netflix thriller Confabulation

Filmmaker Tyler Perry is developing a new thriller for Netflix titled ‘Confabulation’. The project, which blends elements of drama and romance, is being produced by Tyler Perry Studios alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland.

The plot follows a heroic firefighter who attempts to rescue his first love from a powerful husband, only to face a twist that challenges the characters' perception of reality.

The cast features Lucien Laviscount, Taylour Paige, and Shamier Anderson, supported by actors including Nadine Ellis, Peter Parros, and Michelle Núñez. Filming is scheduled to take place between September 21 and October 6, 2026, at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta and in Seattle. While production details are emerging, Netflix has not yet announced an official release date, though it is expected in 2027.
