Tyler Perry has released the first trailer for his upcoming Netflix holiday drama, ‘The Gospel of Christmas’. Written, directed, and produced by Perry, the film follows Isaac, a struggling pastor played by Durrell “Tank” Babbs, who inherits his family’s church in a troubled New York City neighborhood. Alongside his wife, Rebecca, played by Fantasia Barrino, Isaac must navigate self-doubt, temptation, and an intimidating adversary to restore the congregation and preserve his family’s future.

The film features a significant ensemble of gospel music icons, including CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Pastor Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Ann Nesby, Smokie Norful, Jekalyn Carr, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Acclaimed artist Kirk Franklin is overseeing the music production, which blends traditional gospel with contemporary sounds, rap, and holiday music.
