Tyler Perry Studios launches Maxscene film label

Tyler Perry Studios has announced the launch of Maxscene, a new specialty division focused on development and acquisitions. The label is designed to support independent filmmakers with unique voices by providing them with resources, support, and a pathway to theatrical distribution.

Named in honor of Perry’s late mother, Willie Maxine Perry, the division aims to champion storytellers who may struggle to find traditional distribution channels. Perry stated that the initiative is intended to pay forward the belief his mother had in his own career.

Antoinetta Stallings, the Head of Development & Acquisitions at Tyler Perry Studios, will lead the Maxscene division. Stallings previously served as the studio’s vice president of unscripted programming.
