Tyler Seguin and Jonathan Huberdeau update injury status ahead of NHL camp

NHL players Tyler Seguin and Jonathan Huberdeau are recovering from significant injuries ahead of the upcoming season.

Dallas Stars captain Tyler Seguin is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. Seguin has been sidelined since December 2, 2025, following surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill reported that Seguin is back on the ice and feeling good nine months post-operation. He is expected to be available for the team’s season opener against the St. Louis Blues on October 2.

In contrast, Calgary Flames player Jonathan Huberdeau will likely miss the start of training camp as he continues to recover from hip surgery. Calgary general manager Craig Conroy stated that Huberdeau will undergo individual training before reintegrating with the team. Huberdeau’s previous season was cut short after appearing in 50 games.
