Tyler Technologies acquires CODY Systems to broaden public safety software

Tyler Technologies has completed its acquisition of CODY Systems, a privately held, woman‑owned public‑safety software provider founded in 1979 and based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The deal adds CODY’s cloud‑native records‑management platform Pathfinder RMS and its COBRAnet information‑sharing system to Tyler’s portfolio, strengthening its position among small and midsize public‑safety agencies and enabling faster implementations, greater interoperability and real‑time operational data.

CODY serves more than 300 customers across ten U.S. states, ranging from individual police departments to statewide data‑integration networks. All CODY employees and leadership, including President David Heffner, will join Tyler. Financial terms were not disclosed. Tyler, which already provides public‑sector software to over 50,000 installations at 16,000 client locations in the United States and some international markets, said the acquisition expands its footprint in the public‑safety technology market.

“By adding CODY Systems’ solutions, these agencies will continue to benefit from technology designed to fit how they actually work,” said Andrew Hittle, President of Tyler’s Public Safety Division.
