Tymek Kucharczyk battles for Indy NXT championship at Laguna Seca

Polish driver Tymek Kucharczyk is in contention for a historic Indy NXT championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Entering the final stages of the season, Kucharczyk holds 476 points, trailing leader Nikita Johnson (505 points) and second-place Enzo Fittipaldi (502 points) by 29 points.

During the first of the final races in California, Kucharczyk secured pole position but suffered a setback during the race. After a slow start, he was involved in a collision with Myles Rowe, which caused him to lose positions and ultimately finish in tenth place. With Johnson finishing second, Kucharczyk’s mathematical chances for the title have become significantly more difficult, though the championship remains undecided heading into the final round.

Following the race, Kucharczyk issued a statement addressing online comments from fans directed at Rowe following the collision, stating that racism is unacceptable.
