Tymek Kucharczyk enters Indy NXT championship battle at Laguna Seca

Polish driver Tymek Kucharczyk is entering the final weekend of the Indy NXT season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with a chance to fight for the championship. Currently sitting in third place in the standings with 476 points, Kucharczyk trails leader Nikita Johnson (505 points) and second-place Enzo Fittipaldi (502 points) by 29 points.

With two races remaining, a total of 108 points are still available, meaning the title remains undecided. Achieving the championship would grant the winner a scholarship of approximately one million dollars to compete in the Indy 500 and an IndyCar round.

This season finale marks the first time the top three contenders will compete at the Laguna Seca circuit. Kucharczyk is the first Polish driver in over two decades to be in a realistic position to win a major international single-seater championship at this level, a feat last achieved by Robert Kubica in 2005.
