Typhoon Dolphin postpones AUBL finals in Hangzhou

The Asian University Basketball League (AUBL) tournament in Hangzhou has been disrupted by Typhoon Dolphin. Organizers officially announced the postponement of the third-place play-off between Tsinghua University and Waseda University, as well as the championship final.

The championship game was scheduled to feature the defending champions, National Chengchi University from Taiwan, against Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In the semifinals, National Chengchi University secured its place in the final by defeating Waseda University with a score of 102-91.

To ensure the safety of players, fans, and staff, officials are working to reschedule the matches. For ticket holders, existing tickets remain valid for the new dates, though full refunds are available via Damai for those unable to attend due to the delay. Despite the weather interruption, organizers expressed optimism for the league's future, planning to expand the tournament to a 16-team format next year.
