Typhoon Lagoon Water Park closes for seasonal refurbishment

Walt Disney World Resort has closed Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for scheduled seasonal refurbishment, effective September 9. The final day for guest visits was September 8.

While Disney has not officially announced a reopening date, historical patterns suggest the park may reopen in the spring of 2027, coinciding with the scheduled refurbishment of Blizzard Beach Water Park. In the interim, the resort is directing guests to Blizzard Beach.

The closure also marks the end of the ‘Cool KIDS’ SUMMER’ promotion, which ran from May 26 through September 8. During this period, Disney Resort hotel guests received complimentary same-day admission to either water park upon check-in. Following the conclusion of this promotion, guests checking into Disney Resort hotels on or after September 9 will no longer receive same-day complimentary admission to Blizzard Beach.
