Typhoon Noul throws baby’s crib out of Shenzhen home

During Typhoon Noul, a powerful wind gust of up to 160 km/h struck Shenzhen in Guangdong province on 25‑26 July. Video from a security camera captured the storm blowing a house door shut and hurling a crib with a 6‑year‑old girl inside out onto the street. The child fell to the ground, stood up quickly and ran back into the house unharmed. The incident highlighted the extreme danger of the storm before it fully made landfall, prompting red‑level warnings and flight and high‑speed rail cancellations across Guangdong.

Authorities lowered the alert levels as the typhoon weakened later that morning, but the footage drew widespread attention to the severity of wind threats even before a cyclone’s official landing.
