Typhoon Rose impacts scheduled events and tourism in Taiwan and Taoyuan

Typhoon Rose has forced the postponement of several cultural and tourism events to ensure public safety. In Nantou, the 2026 Qingjing Torch Festival, originally scheduled for October 24 and 25, has been rescheduled to October 30 and 31. The event will still take place at Qingjing Elementary School in Ren'ai Township.

In Taoyuan, the 'Autumn Wander - Japanese Style Picnic' event at the Zhonglie Shrine and Culture Park has been moved to November 1. Additionally, various activities at Taoyuan Halloween City, including concerts and theater performances, have been rescheduled to later dates in October.

Several scenic areas in Taoyuan, including the Xiaowulai Skywalk, Houcihu Park, and Lalashan Baling Ancient Trail, have implemented precautionary closures starting October 23. Reopening schedules will depend on the typhoon's path and the safety of mountain roads.
