Typographus launches free online print format calculator

Berlin-based sticker and label printing company Typographus GmbH has released a free online tool designed to help customers verify print data before placing orders. The browser-based calculator allows users to check dimensions, formats, and resolutions of various file types, including PDF, SVG, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.

The tool performs PDF analysis by recognizing page formats, trim boxes, cut contours, and crop marks. It also features motif recognition for image files and SVGs, even when significant white space is present. Users can scale motifs to specific widths or heights, and the tool will calculate the total format and effective DPI resolution, providing warnings if the image quality is insufficient for printing.

To ensure data privacy, the analysis is performed locally within the user's browser, meaning files are not uploaded or stored on external servers. The tool is accessible without registration and is compatible with smartphones. Additionally, the calculated dimensions can be transferred directly to the company's price calculator.
