Tyrese Gibson claims hit song was inspired by Kim Kardashian

R&B singer Tyrese Gibson has revealed that his 2002 hit song, ‘How You Gonna Act Like That,’ was inspired by the personal circumstances surrounding Kim Kardashian and her then-husband, Damon Thomas.

During an appearance on ‘The Kenny Burns Show,’ Tyrese explained that he lived with Kardashian and Thomas for three years while working on his album, ‘I Wanna Go There.’ He stated that he witnessed the events involving Kardashian and Ray J occurring in real time, noting, ‘I was there whenever that sex tape happened. And I was there for all of it.’

The singer clarified that the song’s themes were driven by his observations of Kardashian’s behavior during her marriage to Thomas. The track was recently ranked number 51 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest R&B Songs of the 21st Century.
