Tyrese Gibson visits Uganda to launch coffee tourism initiative

American actor and musician Tyrese Gibson has arrived in Uganda to participate in a three-day visit aimed at promoting the country’s coffee tourism and cultural heritage. The visit, supported by the Government of Uganda and private-sector partners, marks the launch of the ‘Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism’ initiative.

This campaign is a collaborative effort involving the Uganda Tourism Board, Kampala Capital City Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Africa Coffee Park. The goal is to transition Uganda’s coffee industry from a simple commodity export to an immersive tourist experience that highlights the journey from farm to cup, including processing and value addition.

During his stay, Gibson is scheduled to visit western Uganda to meet with coffee farmers and participate in tree-planting activities. He is also expected to visit the Source of the Nile in Jinja. Gibson expressed an ambitious vision for the country’s prosperity, stating that the initiative aims to dream big and position Uganda as a standout destination within Africa.
