Tyrol Emergency Incidents Injure Climber and Rescue Elderly Woman

A rockfall on July 11 in Längenfeld, Tyrol, struck a 38‑year‑old German climber on the Ostgrat of the Wilden Leck. She was evacuated by her companions, received first aid, and was airlifted by a medical helicopter to a hospital in Zams. The other three members of the party escaped unharmed.

Later that day, a residential fire broke out in Jenbach, Tyrol. A neighbor detected smoke, called emergency services, and helped evacuate a 65‑year‑old resident. Firefighters contained the blaze and the woman was taken to the district hospital in Schwaz for medical assessment. The cause is believed to be discarded cigarette butts that ignited a living‑room table.
