Tyron Woodley announces MMA return and discusses mental health

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has announced his intention to return to mixed martial arts (MMA) for at least one more fight. Woodley stated the decision is driven by a desire to provide his career with a proper conclusion on his own terms, noting that he previously stepped away because his performances no longer reflected his training and his motivation to prove critics wrong had faded.

Woodley has not yet confirmed an opponent or a specific date, but he indicated he is open to discussing opportunities with organizations such as Most Valuable Promotions, Scott Coker, GFL, and Ki MMA.

In recent discussions, Woodley also opened up about the severe mental health struggles he faced following his 2019 title loss to Kamaru Usman. He described experiencing deep depression, financial stress, and personal challenges during his championship reign. He credited former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson with helping him navigate those mental health crises.
