Tyrone H. sentenced to nine years for intentional vehicular homicide
A Rotterdam court has sentenced 24-year-old Tyrone H. to nine years in prison for the intentional killing of 18-year-old Nabil in Maassluis on March 2 last year. The incident followed a confrontation between groups from The Hague and Nabil’s group.
According to the court, H. used his vehicle as a weapon. After a fight broke out, H. drove toward the victims, striking Nabil and then reversing over him a second time. The court also found him guilty of attempted manslaughter regarding Nabil’s friend and assault involving a woman.
The judge noted that H. failed to take responsibility, claiming the incident was an accident. However, the court ruled that H. acted with conditional intent, stating he “accepted the possibility of the victim's death” by driving over him twice. Following his prison sentence, H. will face a ten-year driving ban.
