Tyson Bagent named Chicago Bears starter for Week 5 vs. Packers

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson announced that Tyson Bagent will start at quarterback for the Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Bagent will make his second consecutive start while franchise quarterback Caleb Williams continues to recover from a strained hamstring suffered in Week 2.

Bagent enters the game following a 23-12 victory over the New York Jets, where he completed 25 of 34 passes for 268 yards. Johnson praised Bagent’s command, tempo, and composure during the game, noting that the offense functioned smoothly and that his teammates responded well to his leadership.

The decision follows a period of rotation due to injuries. In Week 3, Case Keenum started against the Philadelphia Eagles while Bagent dealt with concussion symptoms. However, with Bagent healthy, Johnson has confirmed he will be ‘the guy’ for the upcoming game.
