Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight predictions spark debate among former champions

Former world champions Carl Froch and Tony Bellew have offered opposing forecasts for the highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Froch, who initially predicted a comfortable points win for Fury, later reversed his view and now backs Joshua for a close victory or knockout, citing Fury’s recent losses and form. Bellew, a close friend of Joshua, says the bout “won’t go the distance”, predicting Joshua will stop Fury before the final bell, adding, “If he gets in that ring and lets his hands go for just six rounds, he’s got the capabilities to knock anybody out.”

Both heavyweights must first complete mandatory warm‑up fights in July 2026—Fury faces Mariusz Wach in Thailand on July 24, and Joshua meets Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25—before a planned November showdown that could become the biggest fight in British boxing history.
