Tyson Fury stops Mariusz Wach in Thailand, moves toward Joshua clash

On 24 July 2026 the former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury faced Polish veteran Mariusz Wach at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand. The bout was a low‑key, non‑televised warm‑up for Fury’s anticipated clash with fellow Briton Anthony Joshua. After seven rounds of dominance, Wach’s corner threw in the towel, giving Fury a technical knockout victory. About 1,500 spectators watched the fight, which will be featured in the Netflix series “At Home with the Furys”. All ticket proceeds were donated to the Father Ray Foundation in Thailand. Following the win Fury said, “I went through my test tonight. Let’s see if (Joshua) gets through his,” and confirmed he would not travel to Saudi Arabia to watch Joshua’s upcoming fight, opting instead to return home to his family. Joshua is scheduled to fight Albanian Kristian Prenga in Jeddah the following day, a bout seen as the final hurdle before a long‑awaited Fury‑Joshua showdown later in the year.
