Fury and Joshua set for December heavyweight title fight in Cardiff

British heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are set to face each other on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff for the vacant WBA (Super) heavyweight title. The bout, described as a ‘battle of Britain’, has been over a decade in the making. Tickets for the event, which is expected to host approximately 80,000 spectators, go on sale this Friday, with prices starting at £75.

Fury has expressed confidence that he can stop Joshua early, citing Joshua’s muscular build as a potential hindrance to his stamina and ‘gas tank’. Joshua, meanwhile, has promised an aggressive performance, emphasizing his tactical IQ and mental resilience. The event is expected to be streamed on Netflix, with ringwalks potentially occurring as late as 1:00 AM to accommodate American audiences.

Adding to the buildup, WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has predicted a Fury victory and expressed interest in a future clash with Fury should he succeed in his upcoming rematch against Fabio Wardley. Additionally, Fury has indicated intentions to invite Donald Trump to join his walk to the ring. The fight is also expected to provide a significant economic boost to regional hospitality sectors, including hotels in Bristol and Cardiff.
