Tyson Stengle departs Geelong Cats after mutual agreement

AFL small forward Tyson Stengle and the Geelong Cats have officially ended their relationship by mutual agreement. The 27‑year‑old forward, who had three years left on a five‑year contract worth about $700,000 a year, will leave the club and return to South Australia. Stengle played 93 games for Geelong, kicked 175 goals and was part of the 2022 premiership team and an All‑Australian selection.

Geelong football manager Andrew Mackie said the club was grateful for Stengle’s contributions, noting his resilience and the shared achievements of over 100 games, a premiership and All‑Australian honors. Stengle thanked teammates, coaches, staff and fans in a statement, expressing his gratitude and intent to support the club as a fan.
