Brazil offers aid to Colombia after deadly 7.4 magnitude earthquake

Following a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has expressed condolences to the Colombian people and offered necessary government assistance.

Official data released by Colombian authorities indicates the earthquake has resulted in 111 deaths and 87 injuries. The disaster has caused significant structural damage, including the collapse of 61 buildings and 37 residences, as well as damage to 1,575 homes and six airports. A state of emergency has been declared as search and rescue operations continue.

The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming that Brazil is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to cooperate with Colombian authorities to support emergency relief efforts within its capabilities.
