Mexico hosts WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Mérida and Cancún

The WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup is being held in Mexico from September 25 to October 4, 2026, with matches hosted in Mérida, Yucatán, and Cancún, Quintana Roo. The tournament features 12 national teams competing for world ranking points.

Group A, hosted at Parque Kukulcán in Mérida, includes Mexico, Japan, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Germany, and South Africa. Group B, held at Estadio Beto Ávila in Cancún, features Chinese Taipei, the United States, Venezuela, Australia, the Czech Republic, and Nicaragua.

The Dominican Republic national team has arrived in Mexico following four months of preparation, with officials emphasizing collective teamwork over individual performance. Meanwhile, the Cuban team, led by Alexander Urquiola, has also arrived in Mérida to begin their campaign, starting with a match against the Dominican Republic.

Spectators can attend three matches daily at each venue with free admission. The tournament will conclude with the semifinals and finals held in Mérida, with the championship match scheduled for October 4.
