U-Haul truck strikes two New York State Police vehicles on Route 17
A U-Haul box truck struck two parked New York State Police vehicles on Route 17 in Orange County late on September 8. The incident occurred around 11:22 p.m. in the Town of Woodbury near Exit 130A.
At the time of the crash, the two marked police vehicles were unoccupied on the shoulder and had their emergency lights activated while troopers conducted an investigation. The westbound U-Haul truck hit the rear of one vehicle, causing it to collide with the second police vehicle.
Two troopers were taken to Garnet Health Medical Center for medical evaluation. Authorities reported that no other injuries occurred during the accident.
