U Mobile launches ULTRA Home 5G Pro broadband in Malaysia

U Mobile has launched ULTRA Home 5G Pro, a new 5G home broadband service in Malaysia. The service offers speeds of up to 2Gbps and a monthly data quota of 2,000GB.

Designed as a plug-and-play alternative to fixed fibre installation, the service utilizes 8x8 MIMO 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology. This allows the included WiFi 7 5G-A router to receive more simultaneous data streams, providing speed increases of 20% to 100% compared to conventional 4x4 MIMO configurations.

Additional features include AI-Powered Game Turbo, which aims to reduce latency by optimizing gaming traffic in real time for PC, console, and mobile platforms. The service is currently available in West Malaysia starting from RM98 per month.
