U-NEXT expands cult film library with 30 Troma Entertainment titles

U-NEXT has expanded its library by adding 30 new titles from the American independent film studio Troma Entertainment. This addition brings the total number of Troma films available on the platform to 60.

Founded in 1974 by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, Troma Entertainment is known for its low-budget horror and comedy films characterized by satire and gore. The studio has served as a starting point for several prominent Hollywood figures, including director James Gunn and filmmaker Eli Roth.

The new lineup includes the 1990 film ‘Kabuki Man’, which features Japanese traditional performing arts, as well as ‘The Toxic Avenger’ animation and ‘Frankenhooker’. The expansion aims to provide a scale of Troma content that is unique within the Japanese streaming market.
