U. S. Lecce takes legal action against Lameck Banda and Al-Swehly

U. S. Lecce has launched multiple legal actions against footballer Lameck Banda and the Libyan club Al-Swehly Sports Club following the player's unilateral contract termination.

In a filing with the FIFA Tribunal, Lecce is seeking to prove that Banda's departure lacked just cause and is holding Al-Swehly responsible for inducing the breach. The Italian club is requesting compensation for damages and the application of FIFA disciplinary sanctions against both parties.

Additionally, Lecce has reported Al-Swehly for the unauthorized use of match footage from the previous season on their social media channels on August 21. The club has also initiated proceedings through the Arbitration Board, established by the collective agreement between FIGC, Lega Serie A, and AIC, to address contractual non-compliance and the potential suspension of salary payments starting July 1, 2026.
