Vietnam U17 team begins international training for FIFA World Cup

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is supporting the U17 Vietnam national team as they enter a critical preparation phase for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026. Following a month of training in Hanoi, the squad is scheduled to embark on international training tours to refine their performance.

From October 19 to 29, the team will train in South Korea, where they are expected to play friendly matches against South Korea's U16 and U17 sides, as well as a K-League U18 club. Following this, the team will move to the United Arab Emirates from November 6 to 9 before traveling to Qatar for the tournament.

Head coach Cristiano Roland stated that the team is focused on identifying and exploiting the weaknesses of their group opponents: Belgium, New Zealand, and Mali. To advance, Vietnam must finish in the top two of Group G or rank among the eight best third-placed teams. The coaching staff emphasized the importance of physical fitness and mental strength for the upcoming competition.
