U2 announces new album ‘Carnaval De Luz’ and 50th anniversary

Irish rock band U2 has announced their 16th studio album, titled ‘Carnaval De Luz’, scheduled for release on November 13, 2026. This marks the group's first album of new material in nine years and coincides with their 50th anniversary. The album is produced by Jacknife Lee and features 12 tracks exploring themes of spirituality, friendship, and freedom.

A major highlight of the upcoming release is the song ‘Torn’, a country ballad that serves as a duet between Bono and the late Dolly Parton. It is noted as Parton's final recorded vocal performance following her death in August.

The band has also released the single ‘Silencio’, which features a music video filmed in Mexico City. Other tracks mentioned in the album's rollout include ‘Street of Dreams’ and ‘The Mirror Maker’, the latter of which was inspired by the Spanish artist Rosalía, though she does not appear on the track. The announcement follows a series of recent EPs, ‘Days of Ash’ and ‘Easter Lily’, and precedes anticipated future activities, including a potential world tour in 2027.
