U2 announces new album ‘Carnaval De Luz’ for November release

Irish rock band U2 has announced their sixteenth studio album, ‘Carnaval De Luz’, scheduled for release on November 13. This marks the group’s first collection of entirely new material since 2017’s ‘Songs Of Experience’. The album, produced largely by Jacknife Lee, is described as an exploration of spirituality, friendship, and resistance.

One of the most discussed tracks, ‘The Mirror Maker (Rosalía)’, is an homage to Spanish singer Rosalía rather than a collaboration. Lead singer Bono explained that the song celebrates her as an ‘extraordinary artist’ and was inspired by her 2025 album ‘Lux’. Bono noted that he sought permission from the singer through their mutual friend, Penélope Cruz, to ensure he did not appear like a ‘stalker’ when reaching out.

The album also features a posthumous duet with the late Dolly Parton titled ‘Torn’, which was recorded shortly before her passing. Other collaborators on the project include Brian Eno, Martin Garrix, and Daniel Lanois. The release coincides with the band’s 50th anniversary.
