UAB Bellaterra campus faces calls for improved transport and facilities

The Bellaterra campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), which hosts approximately 50,000 people daily, is facing calls for urban planning changes to address infrastructure and mobility issues.

Students and staff have identified several areas for improvement, most notably the need for better public transport connections. While transport frequency has increased, there are persistent demands for more bus services connecting surrounding municipalities like Terrassa, Barberà, and Mataró to the faculties. Users report difficulties with late arrivals and limited service during evening hours, which impacts university life outside of standard class times.

Additionally, community members have requested improvements to campus facilities, including better internet coverage in classrooms and upgrades to furniture and electrical outlets.
