UAB Mavi Vatan suction dredger launched in Turkey
Turkey has launched the UAB Mavi Vatan, the first suction dredger designed domestically and built in Turkish shipyards. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the vessel's launch, noting that the construction process began with the first block welding on April 10, 2025.
The 85-meter vessel features a 2,000 cubic meter capacity and a dredging depth of 20 meters. A key technical highlight is its full automation, which allows the ship to perform dredging operations while in motion. The vessel is intended to carry out cleaning and dredging works in Turkish gulfs. Following several months of sea trials, the ship will be officially commissioned into service.
