UAB names Andy Kennedy interim athletics director

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has announced that athletics director Mark Ingraham will depart the university following an 11-year tenure. Ingraham, who joined the school in 2015, was credited with overseeing major facility investments and the program's transition to the American Conference.

Andy Kennedy, a former Ole Miss basketball coach and UAB alumnus, has been named interim athletics director. Kennedy will oversee the department while the university conducts a national search for a permanent successor. Kennedy stated his mission includes supporting student-athletes and coaches while navigating the evolving financial and competitive landscape of college athletics.
