UAB wins GMAC Invitational men's golf tournament

The UAB men's golf team won the GMAC Invitational at Inverness Country Club, marking their first tournament victory in four years. The Blazers finished with a total score of 15-under par, securing a nine-stroke lead over runner-up Western Kentucky University, who finished at 6-under par. Jacksonville State University took third place, finishing 16 strokes behind the leaders.

UAB's victory was characterized by strong depth, with four players finishing in the top 11. Alejandro Fierro and Leo Lavalle tied for fourth, while Patrick Delaney tied for eighth and Ed Davis tied for 11th.

Western Kentucky University finished in second place, led by Rafe Blankenship, who held the top individual position on the leaderboard during the second round before the team's final tally. Austin Peay State University also competed in the event, finishing in a tie for sixth place.
