UABC rejects use of campus for Julieta Ramírez Padilla's political march

The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) has officially distanced itself from Senator Julieta Ramírez Padilla and a planned proselitizing march intended to take place within the university campus in Mexicali.

In a statement issued on August 22, Rector Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre asserted that university facilities must not be used as meeting points, organizational spaces, or venues for political-partisan mobilization. Palafox Maestre emphasized the need to respect the institution's autonomy, stating that the UABC does not belong to any specific political current, party, or government, but rather to its community and the society it serves.

The Rector rejected any attempts, whether deliberate or otherwise, to involve university spaces in such activities and urged that the institution's infrastructure and symbols not be used for political-partisan purposes.
