Regional news: Honduras police sanction driver and Oaxaca launches pet registry

In Honduras, the National Police and the National Directorate of Roads and Transport (DNVT) announced administrative sanctions and a fine against a father in San Marcos, Ocotepeque. The decision follows a viral incident where a minor fell from a moving vehicle during a protest. Authorities determined the driver failed to ensure necessary safety measures for transporting the minor.

In Mexico, the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca (UABJO) and the Oaxaca Health Services (SSO) are launching the Oaxaca Companion Animal Registry (ROAC). This technological tool aims to create a census of pets to improve public health strategies, manage epidemiological surveillance for diseases like rabies, and address animal abandonment and cruelty.

Additionally, the UABJO Faculty of Physical Culture and Sport has introduced a new athletics physical conditioning program for students, staff, and the general public. Meanwhile, in Oaxaca, the PRI held a regional forum in Huajuapan de León to discuss security, gender violence, and public transportation issues in the Mixteca region.
