Mexican universities launch new academic and funding initiatives

Various Mexican academic and cultural institutions are launching new initiatives. The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) has announced its 97th Magno Lottery, featuring over 44 million pesos in prizes to fund university infrastructure and academic equipment, particularly for medicine and engineering.

In Oaxaca, the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca (UABJO) is preparing for its bicentennial anniversary with a series of academic, cultural, and sporting events. However, the university's administration is facing labor tensions, as workers from the STEUABJO union have occupied the Rectorate building to protest unfulfilled promises and the use of unauthorized personnel.

In Baja California Sur, the UABCS and ITES Los Cabos are collaborating on a hybrid workshop focused on sustainable tourism entrepreneurship, covering business models and energy efficiency. Additionally, UABCS is planning to expand its presence in Los Cabos with a new university space in the La Ballena neighborhood.

In Baja California, COBACH BC is conducting training and capacity-building sessions for over one thousand teachers across several cities to improve educational quality.
