UACH Rector welcomes new students in Ciudad Juárez

Luis Alfonso Rivera Campos, rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH), officially welcomed new students for the August-December 2026 academic cycle at the Juárez campus. The ceremony included the presence of Ciudad Juárez Mayor Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel.

During his address, Rivera Campos announced the consolidation of new degree programs designed to meet regional needs, specifically highlighting the introduction of medicine to address local physician shortages. Other new offerings include Psychology and Law, with the latter focusing on border dynamics.

Additionally, the university is expanding its international presence through a new dual-degree program in International Relations with Western New Mexico University. The rector also noted upcoming research projects, including a documentary on migration and water intended for international film festivals.
