Mexican universities celebrate major academic anniversaries

Several Mexican universities are celebrating major milestones. The Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca (UABJO) is marking its bicentennial anniversary. During a solemn session of the State Congress, the institution was officially designated as the ‘Benemérita y Bicentenaria Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca: Ciencia, Arte y Libertad’. Officials noted the university's historical role in shaping the political and social landscape of Oaxaca since its origins as the Institute of Sciences and Arts.

In Ciudad Juárez, the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) is celebrating 50 years of its Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics program. The university rector emphasized that while artificial intelligence and new technologies are essential allies for professional practice, they must be used alongside a humanistic approach and sensitivity toward living beings. The celebration included the 18th International Veterinary Week and recognized long-standing faculty members for their academic contributions.
